Capt.
Jim Sharpe Jr. is the Captain of the charter boat Third Generation. A 27’ Conch
out of Big Pine Key specializing in light tackle fishing for Tarpon, Snapper,
Grouper, Dolphin, Sharks, Billfish, Swordfish, Tuna and Wahoo..
Capt. Jim Sharpe Jr. grew up in the Florida Keys and has been professionally fishing since 1976. He started commercial fishing with his dad for lobster, stone crab, kingfish, snappers and grouper. Capt. Jim Sharpe Jr. got into the charter boat business in 1981 with his dad Capt. Jim Sharpe Sr. He got his Captains License when he was 18 years old in 1985 and was the youngest charter boat Captain in the Keys at that time. He has run many boats from his family’s boats, Sea Boots fleet to 55’ and 60’ Private boats. Capt. Jim Sharpe Jr. has fished all over the Caribbean, Florida, South Carolina, Ocean City Maryland and the Bahamas’, including Panama, Costa Rica and Venezuela.

Capt. Jim Sharpe Jr. has won or placed in many fishing tournaments such as first place in the 1993 Texaco Hemingway Key West Classic, first place in the John Curry Key West Classic, first place in the Cabo Challenge in 1998, Top Guide in the 1998 Texaco Key West Classic, first place in the 1999 Drambuie Marlin Tournament, first place in the 2001 Islamorada Fishing Club Sailfish Tournament, first place in the 2001 BBC Harbor Island Championship, Largest Blue Marlin for the 2001 BBC Tournaments and first and third place in the 2009 Women’s Dolphin Tournament in Key West to name a few.
